Teamwork Under the Sea

This weekend my friends and I had the awesome opportunity to decorate for a college welcome party. The theme? If the cute fish mobiles, nets, and balloon bubbles haven't already given it away, the theme of this year's picnic was Under the Sea.

We used an array of brightly colored party supplies to create a festive atmosphere for our guests, but some of the best decorations were supplied by on-the-spot ingenuity. One of my friends brought seashells from around the world to accent the décor. Another friend added shiny glass pebbles as bubbles above the fish decals to add a 3-D effect.

The picnic itself was a "Create Your Own Sub" buffet to fit with the theme - not pictured, but trust me, it was delicious!

Working as a part of a team was especially rewarding. It came as a refreshing break from many of the DIY projects I've been assembling lately. It was a pleasure to work with so many positive and creative people!

Long after we collected up the last of the seaweed and candy life preservers, I can 100% say I would enjoy this project just as much were we to try it again!
